Applications of Solvent-Based Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives (SBPSAs) Due to their excellent water resistance and toughness, solvent-based pressure-sensitive adhesives are widely used in automotive, electronics, computers, woodworking, and medical sectors. Typical applications include bonding foam materials, edge banding/jointing of wood panels, as well as manufacturing adhesive plasters (medical tapes), electrical insulating tapes, and transparent adhesive tapes. II. Selection of SIS Grades in Formulations The manufacturing formulation is similar to that of hot-melt adhesives. For general-purpose pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs), SIS 1105 and SIS 1106 can be selected. For self-adhesive labels/stickers, SIS 1124 and SIS 1126 with high diblock content are recommended. For applications requiring high holding power and high temperature resistance, SIS 1209 is the optimal choice.
